Royalty Choosing

Looe Carnival is taking place this year from 29 July – 3 August 2024 (Furry Dance 29 July & Carnival Procession 3 August).

As part of the longstanding tradition of the Carnival week in Looe, three local primary school age children are chosen to be the Carnival Royalty and take part in the Furry Dance procession and the Carnival procession.

Our aim is to have a fair and unbiased selection process as the applicants will be judged purely on the information written about their reasons for wanting to represent their town as a member of the Looe Carnival Royalty.

To enter a child that you are the parent or guardian of, please download the application form from here and follow the instructions on the form.

2023 Royalty

The photo below shows the 2023 Royalty in their costumes. We would like to thank the Hannafore Point Hotel for sponsoring the cost of the outfits last year and their continued support in 2024.

Look out for the Land train during the Furry Dance on 29 July and the Carnival Procession on 3 August, as this is the Royalty’s carriage this year.
